The "BB DELIVERY PROTECT" concept for a fast-food chain

Increased demand for food delivery during a period of strict hygiene measures required the development and production of safe packaging.

A hygienically flawless and well-organised solution

During the lockdown, the number of orders for takeaway food increased. This raised the question of how to pack and deliver orders to customers as safely as possible.

The proposed solution replaces the practice of packing fast food in paper bags and offers a safe, hygienic seal for food within the packaging, thanks to an integrated adhesive strip, applied within the manufacturer’s food-grade cleanroom. Despite this, it is still possible to check the completeness and condition of the contents through a transparent window. Subsequent transport stages, such as dispatch, courier delivery and other handling, prevent third parties from coming into contact with the food.

Only the customer opens the packaging quickly, conveniently and irreversibly using the integrated tear strip. The insert design now also allows coffee to be delivered!

How the packaging works

Original packaging in paper bags

Unlike standard paper bags, DELIVERY PROTECT keeps the contents in place thanks to a fastening at the window, which also acts as a thermal barrier to separate cold and hot food.

Easy to pack and unpack

An adhesive strip with a cover strip ensures a secure and tight seal, allowing the packaging to be closed quickly and preventing it from accidentally opening or the contents being examined during transit. The customer can then easily open the box using the tear strip.

An efficient ventilation system

BB DELIVERY uses an efficient ventilation system that ensures natural air circulation, so that food does not lose its quality and does not become damp inside the sealed packaging.
